About the course

This five-day course offers a valuable opportunity for eye health and public health professionals, clinical directors, managers working in eye health, social care and public health to better understand the links between public health, epidemiology and ophthalmic public health; explore the concept of Ophthalmic Public Health Ambassadors; learn about approaches to evaluation and evidence-based health care. Topics include:

·        Public Health leadership

·        Health Needs Assessment and Health Equity Audit

·        Commissioning eye health care services

·        Screening and surveillance for eye diseases

·        Health promotion

·        Developing a population perspective.

Course Fees

·        £675 which includes lunch and refreshments on all teaching days

·        Reduced rates for group bookings or for charitable organizations

·        RNIB is offering bursaries for 14 places for applicants interested in championing   the population eye health agenda.  We welcome applications from a variety of different disciplines. The closing date for the first round of RNIB funded places is 16th January, 2012
